HASDIA (Houston Area School District Internal Auditors), established in July 2002, we have 18 current members representing 12 Texas School Districts, two Texas universities and a state agency all working in the internal auditing profession. Our group offers the opportunity to network with other local Internal Auditors, as well discuss problems and concerns, and share ideas and best practices. We meet at a one of our district offices on a quarterly basis and have had guest speakers on such topics as construction auditing. These meetings prove to be beneficial to all since the majority of us are small audit shops (typically one person) and appreciate the support the group provides.

The only qualification to join our group is:

• Interest in Internal Audit topics (not necessarily an Internal
Auditor)
• Able to contribute ideas to the group
• Willingness to attend quarterly meetings at a sponsor district
